Home to the Guildford Flames one of the UK’s top professional ice hockey teams, the Spectrum Leisure Centre has had a great lighting rig for some time. Guildford Sound & Light supplied and installed four Martin MAC500 moving heads along with custom gobos for the ice hockey team back in 2001. These state of the art fixtures are still going strong but Alan Hankin the ice rink’s manager wanted to add to the existing system to further improve their light shows.
In 2005 there was sufficient budget to re-invest and Alan decided to add eight Martin MX10 scanners along with a new two head Jem Club Smoke system all controlled from the existing Pulsar Masterpiece lighting desk. Guildford Sound & Light fitted the new lights which complement the MAC500’s and other lighting perfectly. This venue now has a more sophisticated light show than most top nightclubs and Alan (who does all of his own programming) has got plenty to play with.
