Wednesday 27th June 2007 saw the first ever Intel DJ / VJ Laptop battles take place at Cargo in London. Guildford Sound and Light supplied Higher Status Events with all the VJ equipment including a pair of Pioneer DVJ-1000 DVD players, two Edirol V4 video mixers, a Pioneer DJM800 and two 8ft screens with high powered Sanyo LCD projectors. This was a little different from the usual supply we are used to. Mark Brickell, Managing Director of Higher Status, needed not only a supply but a complete set up for one night only event. No problem, we set up, tested and also ran the stage DJ and VJ systems through the whole event for not only the 4 laptop DJ’s and VJ’s but also the guests, DJ Yoda, A-Skillz, Bopa and the Autobots. The evening was hosted by Kiss FM’s Jay Cunning’s and was a great success. Mark now has added the DVJ-1000’s, mixer and projectors to his hire inventory and is one of the only companies that hire the sort after DVD players.
