Guildford Sound & Light have just supplied a large, live music system to a client in Bahrain. The requirements were very specific and comprised everything from the front of house system, mixing desk and processing through to the stage monitoring and even instruments.
The FOH was a Nexo Alpha system comprising Alpha S2 subwoofers, Alpha B1 bass cabinets and Alpha M8 mid/tops. These formidable speakers where all to be powered from Camco Vortex amplifiers and processed by 2 Nexo NX242 digital processors.
Stage monitoring was provided by the latest Martin Audio LE1200 and LE1500 low profile wedges with QSC Audio amplification. The sound engineer has an Allen & Heath GL4800 32 channel mixing desk for control which is connected via custom built looms to BSS compression, Drawmer gates, TC Electronics effects and Klark Teknik graphic EQs.
A 45 metre multicore connects the mixing position to the stage where we provided an Ampeg bass cabinet and amplifier, Fender Twin Reverb guitar combo, Yamaha 5 piece drum kit, BSS DI boxes and a variety of Shure microphones. The Shure ULX24 series of radio microphones where chosen for vocals with classic SM58 capsules.
A lot of care was taken to ensure that all flightcases, accessories and especially leads were checked and double checked prior to shipping so that our client could simply wire the equipment and use it straight away.
