The management at Jaxx nightclub in Fleet Hampshire made the decision to split the 1200 capacity venue in half giving the customers a choice of the full club experience or a funky bar with dance floor.
Working closely with the venue manager we speced a simple but effective lighting system for the dance floor consisting of Six Martin's SCX500 Scanners, two Smartmac's and two Magnum 1500 Smoke machines all controlled via Lightjockey USB, a PC based lighting controller.  Two high power Epson projectors were also used to project video images onto two 8ft wide electric screens.
The existing sound system was re configured an re sited on to the new dance floor and the bar had Ten EV ZX1 speakers strategically placed to give even coverage at a lower level throughout the area.  This was all controlled by a BSS Soundweb 9088iis with two SW912 wall controllers to make switching sources to the 2 different rooms a breeze.  With health and safety more important than ever the whole system is wired to mute when the fire alarm is activated.  A recorded evacuation announcement is then played.
A new bar was added to the main club so this also needed lighting and truss.  Once again we managed to use existing equipment and moved a complete lighting rig 10 feet to the left!!  All this had to be complete within the four days that the club is not trading, of course we did it with a few hours to spare.  The results of this project have left the club looking and sounding great.  We hear that since the work has been completed the club has been busier than ever.
