The experts at RCF have drawn on decades of experience of producing some of the finest active speakers to create the ART 9 Series which outperforms the competition to give you the clearest sound available.
ART 912-A is masterfully engineered to deliver stellar audio performance and versatility for intensive audio applications. The combination of a 1.75" compression driver, 12" woofer, two-channel 2100W amplifier, and the constant directivity True Resistive Waveguide produces coherent 100° x 60° coverage for the listening area with up to 130 dB SPL, distortion-free sound. Used as a stand-alone speaker for a FOH system, satellite (with subwoofer), stage monitor, or flown, the ART 912-A packs high-performance and reliability in a compact enclosure. Designed to be the most flexible loudspeaker in its class, it also features multiple rigging points for fixed installation. Merging RCF proprietary FiRPHASE and Bass Motion Control DSP processing, perfectly tuned for each model, the audience will experience absolute clarity and deep, powerful bass response. The sleek cabinet uses a special polypropylene composite material with an M-brace internal reinforcement, making it easy to carry and secure to install on a pole, flown-, wall-, or truss-mounted using the multiple rigging points available.
- Power That Moves
The most powerful amplifier in its class
RCF's improvements in transducer design make them stronger and powerful, so the amplifier follows the evolution. With 2,100 Watts of power, the 2-channel ART 9 Class-D amplifier is 50% more powerful than previous models, able to manage extremely high sound pressure levels with an ultra-fast attack, realistic transient response, and very low heat loss. ART 9 is very energy-efficient so there is no need for a cooling fan - the amplifier is attached to a solid aluminum heat exchanger in the back of the unit - with no moving parts. Being physically connected with the internal frame, the amplifier is firm and solid within the cabinet. The input circuit features a new low distortion design with an advanced safety limiter, maintaining the true character of the input signal at all levels. All ART 9 amplifiers are designed according to EN62368-1 for maximum safety and present a Switch Mode Power Supply section joining high-efficiency with minimum weight.
- Superior Highs & Lows
The advanced design of ART9 lies within the housing of the speaker. The new True Resistive Waveguide is the result of several refinements in both the transducers' and the vented ports' design with Finite Element Analysis, and constant measurement in RCF anechoic chambers. Thanks to FiRPHASE technology, the new shape, and the placement of the ports, the speaker now acts as a single ideal source for a perfect sound image. Acoustically, the TRW waveguide mimics a resonance-free pure resistive load reducing the high-frequency distortion of a classic horn. With its asymmetrical sound shaping, the coverage angle of the waveguide provides constant directivity to the entire listening area and improved stereo panorama.
The new 1.75" compression driver voice-coil design with Polyimide-Kapton dome features a new bonding technology and reinforced ribs make it 10 times more durable than previous models. We also redesigned the phase plug to increase sound clarity and precision, also improving coupling with the low-frequency transducer.
Low-frequency transducer design gains more stability over higher currents, with less distortion, and is highly efficient in terms of heat dissipation. RCF quality control is very strict. Our woofers are tested with a 200 hours continuous signal to stress the transducer at extreme levels. Only the best woofer design can fit ART 9.
- Next Generation DSP
When searching for an extended bass with enhanced performance, RCF engineers found a way to remove the high-pass filter, replacing it with a forward-thinking approach. Introducing BMC (Bass Motion Control), the newly advanced woofer excursion management feature. Speakers with BMC can handle the lowest audible frequencies without affecting the woofer stability, with extended linearity and better sound integrity.
The BMC method works by creating a complete map of the dynamic behavior of the woofer, to generate a custom algorithm that only limits over-excursions. This gives total freedom of signal reproduction to the transducer. When high-pass filters normally protect the woofer motion from becoming destructive, but change the phase behavior, the new BMC algorithm breaks conventional rule. In combination with FiRPHASE technology, ART 9 & NX 9 have a level of DSP audio performance never achieved in this range of speakers.
- SUB 905 AS-MK3
The SUB 905-AS MK3 is a self-powered extended low-frequency subwoofer with internal DSP. Its compact cabinet houses a state-of-the-art 15" transducer featuring ceramic magnets and a 3.0” voice coil. The internal amplifier manages up to 2200W power output,, delivering sound pressure levels up to 133 dB. Proprietary Bass Motion Control processing provides extended linearity and remarkable sound integrity. Rear panel controls include presets, crossover frequency, and polarity selection, cardioid, and output delay settings. The tour-ready, rugged all-wood cabinet with scratch-resistant polyurea coating is stackable and lightweight, ensuring quick set-ups and tear-downs. Built specifically for highly demanding applications, SUB 905-AS MK3 is the perfect workhorse for music professionals.
- 2200 W
- 133 dB max SPL
- 40 Hz - 120 Hz frequency response
- 15" Woofer, 3.0" v.c.
- Selectable gain, X-over, cardioid mode and time delay
- Stereo XLR input, Stereo XLR signal output
RCF subwoofers are the first choice of many sound engineers, thanks to the very high SPL levels at very low frequencies, small dimensions compared to the competitors, self-powered design, internal delay control, long-term reliability, cardioid configuration options, and impressive size/weight to SPL output ratio. Your crowd will be able to live an engaging immersive experience in both live sound or DJing applications.
POWERFUL CLASS D AMPLIFIERS
The SUB 905-AS MK3 features the most powerful amplifier in its class. RCF's improvements in transducer design make their woofers stronger and more powerful, so the amplifier follows that evolution. With 2200W power, the Class-D amplifier is able to manage extreme sound pressure levels with an ultra-fast attack, realistic transient response, and very low heat loss. It is so energy-efficient that there's no need for a cooling fan - the amplifier is attached to a solid aluminium heat exchanger in the rear of the cabinet - with no moving parts. The stereo input circuit with crossover features a new low distortion design with an advanced safety limiter, maintaining the true character of the input signal at all levels. RCF amplifiers are designed according to EN62368-1 for maximum safety and present a Switch Mode Power Supply section joining high-efficiency with minimum weight.
THE TRANSDUCERS INNOVATORS
Lightweight and powerful, RCF woofers are a reference in high performance. RCF Precision Transducers engineers have developed new specific magnet sizes and molds to optimize magnetic flux while maintaining a low weight. The 15", 3.0" voice coil magnetic circuit topology is capable of delivering the highest, balanced level of performance in three specific areas: maintenance of a consistent, high integrity magnetic flux gap, exceptionally low distortion and efficiently integrating the magnetic circuit in a minimum weight design. The T-pole design optimization generates the minimum amount of flux modulation in the magnetic assembly during typical voice coil movement within the gap.
CABINET & MECHANICS
The subwoofer is suitable for a wide range of live sound applications. The rugged all-plywood cabinet is easy to carry and stack, due to its light-weight. All are equipped with ergonomic handles with rubber grips for easy set-up and tear down. The M20 threaded pole mount on the top allows the cabinet to support speakers with a pole mount. The heavy-duty polyurea coating, the powder-coated metal grille, and the rugged structure of the cabinet withstand long-term use and transportation. Separate housing for the amplifier guarantees component efficiency and reliability. An acoustically transparent sound foam backing on the inside of the grille ensures protection from dust and humidity. With its frontal vented ports, the subwoofer can also be used in recessed spaces.
