Pioneer DJ DDJ-200

Connecting your AV:Link speakers

- The lead needed to connect your speakers is in the AV:Link speaker box. It is an aux lead that connects the black side of the splitter cable to the AUX input on the back of the powered speaker.

- Press the MODE button on the powered speaker until you see a red light next to BT/AUX. This shows you have selected the AUX input.

Connecting your DM-40 speakers

- The lead needed to connect your speakers is in the DM-40 box. The small jack plugs into the black side of the splitter cable and the white and red connectors plug into Input 1 on the back of the powered speaker.

- Make sure that the cable connecting the speakers has been stripped back to bare wire. The wire needs to make contact with the metal part of the spring loaded terminal in order for the second speaker to work.

iPhone users

- Make sure that the lighting to headphones socket adaptor you are using is an official Apple one. We have seen many audio problems when people use unofficial adaptors.

- Top Tip - Apple used to include these adaptors with iPhones 7, 8 and X. If you have an old iPhone box somewhere then check inside and you might find the adaptor you need.

iPad users

- You can download and install the free WeDJ app from the App Store.

- If you want to use either Soundcloud Go+ or Beatport streaming services you will need to install WeDJ for iPhone instead of the iPad version.

Android users

- Streaming services are not integrated in the free WeDJ app. You can try the Algoriddim DJ app if you want to use Tidal, Soundcloud, Beatport or Beatsource.

Pioneer DJ DDJ-FLX4

- All of the instructions are the same as the DDJ-400 below with the exception of the USB connection. The DDJ-FLX4 comes with a USB C lead so you will need one of these smaller sockets on your computer. If you only have the older style USB A sockets on your computer then you will need to purchase a USB A to USB C lead.

- The controller is powered down the USB lead by your computer. The additional USB socket on the controller is reserved for powering the controller when it is being used with an iOS or Android device. The iOS and Android app is not available until early 2023.

- The laptop System Requirement are shown on the download page above. If your laptop doesn't meet these requirements then it is not capable of running the software.

- When you connect the DDJ-400 to your computer running rekordbox it will unlock the Performance Mode and a tutorial will open to walk you through the controller.

Connecting the DM-40 speakers

- The lead to connect speakers is inside the DM-40 box. The red and white connectors plug into the MASTER output on the back of the controller. The small jack end plugs into INPUT 2 on the back of the powered speaker.

- Make sure that the cable connecting the DM-40 speakers has been stripped back to bare wire. The wire needs to make contact with the metal part of the spring loaded terminal in order for the second speaker to work.

Distorted or crackling sound?

- If the sound is distorting you will likely need to increase the Audio Buffer size. Open up the Preferences in rekordbox and click on the Audio tab. Now move the slider next to Buffer Size to the right which will increase the number of samples. Doing this will put less stress on your computer and reduce the likelyhood of any distortion.

- You can also toggle your laptop speakers on and off here by unchecking the box in the Audio section.
